Monday Morning

During the night the puppies' (Beau - the horse one has only just had his first birthday so he is still a puppy) good ears and hunting instincts served them well and they kept waking son to go outside...thinking it was a call of nature he did his duty....but no....they sensed the rabbits and/or hares outside and as soon as they were out the door took off into the paddock which meant son taking off after them in the dark with only a torch in the freezing cold. Thank goodness they are obedient....and they only got outside the once until morning.

That was when Beau got the best surprise! The cows next door always wander down our side fence from where they sleep over the hill and Beau has never seen a cow before because the paddocks had been cleared on previous visits. The silly cows just stood and looked and one tried to butt the fence but it was hilarious to watch. Beau was so excited and then disappointed when the cows moved off down to their dam - I think he just saw them as big dogs he could play with...and of course the cows had never seen a dog on this side of the fence either.

  1. Hi Shirley, great pictures, and what fun you must have had seeing both parties in a stand off. Looks like a beautiful day too.
