Beths raised Petal

I have been trying to teach myself from a tutorial on bethsbluebellwood how to work a raised petal, and while I have not really had the time to concentrate on it properly, when I worked it in silk ribbon, I saw "a clump of coral" for my new underwater pic that I am working on....trust me to see coral and not a beautiful flower. I did get stuck on part of it, but Bethlea has very kindly emailed me to help me to understand better.

Beth is a member of the group on Elizabethan Embroidery on Stitchinfingers, and all the ladies in the group are so kind, and so helpful.



While I am away am only taking the last two squares of the ladybird quilt, and the rectangle I have copied the designs for the cupcakes on. This way, apart, from scissors and small frame, I only have to take needles and two lots of threads...red for the butterflies and lime green for the patty pans of the cupcakes. I have decided to do them all in the same colour lime. They are all worked in stem stitch, which is pretty boring, so it will h
