First there was one rabbit just sitting peacefully on the grass...probably admiring my plants and deciding which one he would eat first.
Then there was another up the back near the rock wall
His brother/sister was further up the wall...how many more. Now what I want to know is are these the original rabbits we had in the front garden....who were so tiny and so cute...or has the family multiplied. We have seen rabbits down in the paddock outside the dog fence, and over in the one down from the side of the house...Are they just the same set of rabbits who get around a lot????
When I disturbed them this lot took off up through the back to the property next door which is covered in long grass. Hopefully they like to live there and not on our short grass.....where did you say those traps were? Rabbit stew anyone?????
hate to say it but John has just shot 2 1/2 grown rabbits and is looking for their mother. We dont want to go back to the bad old days of rabbit plagues.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the rabbits are multiplying as they are renowned for! I have never eaten rabbit, but saw some recipes for it on cable TV last night and it didn't look to bad. Got to catch em first.
